i am bad at emails

I like a lot of things about Bear. I like that emailing is the norm here a lot. But the issue with emails is that though they're still relevant in my daily life, I'm not really sure what the social constraints to them are when it comes to slightly more casual correspondences, and as a result, I don't know if what I'm saying or doing could be considered bad manners.

I think this is probably the trait of an over-thinker. But in that regard, I find myself tormented. Do I respond to every email I get? Do I ignore them? Do I read them, then go about my day? I tend to respond to them all, though I don't expect one back. It's in my nature to be social, and I find I have more to say when I begin typing than I thought I would, and then I end up embarrassed, and all of that culminates into this. If you can't tell, I've been sending out a handful recently.

Formal emails, for work and school, are easy. Faking formality is pretty simple, and if it's between people you already know, then it doesn't matter how casually you speak. But when it comes to acquaintances, it's a question of how to act. Do I add in a joke? Is a smiley face inappropriate? Also, LOL is not a commonplace thing in emails. I like HAHA regardless, but what if it comes off as me yelling...

The more I type, the more frivolous it all sounds. But I'm glad that this is the problem I have, rather than something a lot more serious... If it's not clear, I've been thinking a lot tonight!
